New Podiatry Practice and Beach Bagels Restaurant Breathe New Life into Retail Center at 5226 South College Road in Wilmington, NC

October 6, 2017

Tenants and Landlord Both Represented in Lease Agreements By Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast Agents

WILMINGTON, NC – Allan Fox, Don Harley, Mark Johnson and Janet Rose, agents with Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast, recently negotiated lease agreements for two new tenants at 5226 South College Road, a retail center adjacent to Monkey Junction in Wilmington, NC. Fox and Harley represented the property owner, ZA Sneeden, LLC, and Johnson and Rose represented the tenants — Noah Foot and Ankle Center, PLLC, a new podiatry practice owned and operated by Dr. Nicholas Noah; and Beach Bagels, a cafe serving breakfast and lunch daily and more than a dozen varieties of freshly boiled and baked homemade bagels. This is the third location for Beach Bagels in the Greater Wilmington area.

This 40,000-square-foot shopping center is located at the intersection of College and Carolina Beach Roads in Monkey Junction. Key tenants include Cape Fear Seafood Company, Petsmart, Fairy Circle and Vintage Values.

“This retail center is within easy reach of the southern beaches and all of the new development taking place at River Lights,” said Harley, Broker and Partner with Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast. “Our tenants have great visibility, plenty of parking and are just next door to a wide variety of complementary businesses. We think we’re going to see a lot of additional leasing activity in this center and throughout the Monkey Junction area to meet the growing demand for services in southern New Hanover County.”

Noah Foot and Ankle

Dr. Noah has leased 1,350 square feet for his new practice, which will offer complete and comprehensive foot and ankle care for all ages, including reconstructive surgery and wound care. Dr. Noah is a graduate of UNCW with a BS in Biology and earned his podiatry degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. He completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a surgical residency at Oklahoma City. A native of Graham, NC, Dr. Noah practiced podiatry for several years in Chicago and Pinehurst before relocating to Wilmington.

“Noah Foot and Ankle is the first and only podiatry practice in southern New Hanover County,” said Dr. Noah. “We are very excited to be able to bring comprehensive podiatric care to this part of the community. We use a cloud-based electronic medical record system, which makes it very easy and convenient for patients to transfer their care into our practice. And our X-ray and computer technologies are all state-of-the-art, which allows us to generate results quickly and share images with patients so they more fully understand the nature of their care.”

Noah Foot and Ankle is scheduled to open on Monday, October 2. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Beach Bagels

Tony Di Norcia, owner of Beach Bagels, has leased 2,000 square feet at 5226 South College Road for his third restaurant location. Additional locations include 7220 Wrightsville Avenue and 5906 Oleander Drive. Beach Bagels kettle boils then bakes its award-winning bagels in small batches to produce a crusty exterior and a dense, chewy interior characteristic of a true bagel. The menu features a wide array of bagel sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch, ranging from Breakfast Basics – cream cheese, egg, egg and meat – to Breakfast Bonanzas — fully loaded omelets made to order. Lunch choices include salads, sandwiches, sides and a wide variety of meat lovers and vegetarian choices. Catering is also available.

Beach Bagels is currently renovating its new space at South College Road to include a newly outfitted kitchen, a 30- to 40-seat dining room and a covered, outdoor seating area. Construction is underway and plans are to open before year-end.

“I’ve had my eye on Monkey Junction as an ideal site for Beach Bagels ever since we bought the first restaurant in 2014,” said Di Norcia. “This area of the county is really growing quickly and this location is perfect for us because it is so accessible. Our restaurant is a great complement to the existing restaurants and retailers and we look forward to introducing a whole new group of customers to the best bagels in town!”

Beach Bagels is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

“We pride ourselves in helping our clients find the best commercial locations to suit their business needs,” said Mark Johnson, an agent with Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast. “Noah Foot and Ankle and Beach Bagels are both great additions to 5226 South College Road and we look forward to continuing to work with each of them to help them grow their business.”
