CBC SunCoast Expands Property ManagementSeptember 8, 2016
Wilmington, NC – Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast has expanded its property management division to three full-time staff to accommodate recent growth. Heidi Burgess has joined the firm as Property Manager and Alison Hammett has been promoted from Front Desk Manager to Assistant Property Manager. Kari Wilkinson will be handling the accounting for the property management division.
“Our property management division has been very successful and continues to grow,” said Grayson Powell, managing partner of CBC SunCoast. “We now have a talented and dedicated team in place and we’re confident that Heidi has the leadership and industry experience to take our property management capabilities to the next level.” As Property Manager, Burgess is responsible for the firm’s property management portfolio, which consists of 34 commercial office buildings, retail centers, and warehouse and industrial properties in Wilmington, Jacksonville, and Lenoir, NC and Lexington, SC. She has overall responsibility for property marketing and leasing, repairs and maintenance and tenant relations.
Burgess is a 15-year veteran of the commercial brokerage and property management industry. Prior to joining CBC SunCoast, she owned and operated her own brokerage and property management firm that
specialized in brokerage in the Jacksonville, NC market. In addition to her expertise in property management, Burgess is a licensed commercial broker and Certified Commercial Investment Member or CCIM. CCIM designees have specialized expertise in financial, market, and investment analysis and use this knowledge to help clients build profitable investment portfolios. Burgess is currently working on her Certified Property Manager (CPM), a designation considered to be among the industry’s premier real estate management credentials. “Heidi’s experience in both commercial brokerage and property management is unique in the industry and gives her a much broader understanding of the needs of buyers, sellers and tenants,” said Powell. “She understands the complexities of the commercial real estate market and this expertise translates into superior customer service for our clients and their tenants.” Burgess is a resident of Hampstead, NC and graduate of the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Alison Hammett joined CBC SunCoast in March 2013 as Front Desk Manager and was promoted to Property Management Assistant in November 2015. Prior to joining CBC SunCoast, she held administrative and
management positions at two salon spas in Wilmington and Charlotte. From 1999 through 2010, Hammett held a variety of positions at Comfortable Soles, Inc., owner of a chain of shoe retail stores, including sales, management, training and bookkeeping. Hammett is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington with a BA in Biology. She obtained her NC Real Estate Broker’s license in February 2015. A native of Concord, NC, Hammett is a resident of Wilmington. Brenda Cunningham joined CBC SunCoast in August 2015 as Accounting Manager for the Property Management division. She brings more than 23 years of experience in accounting, finance, sales, and management to this position. Prior to joining SunCoast, she worked for eight years at Rolls-Royce North America and Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine in a variety of positions, from Management Accountant to Vice President of Finance. Cunningham is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a BBA in Accounting and earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA. Cunningham is a resident of Wilmington.
Kari Wilkinson, formerly of Coldwell Banker Seacoast Advantage, joined Coldwell Banker SunCoast in October of 2016 to head up the property management accounting department. Upon graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Kari joined the residential real estate industry where she worked numerous inter-company Administrative positions gaining knowledge and experience throughout the residential real estate transaction process. During this time, Kari also received her North Carolina Real Estate Broker License and has spent the last 6 years in residential real estate and property management book keeping. Recently Kari transitioned into commercial real estate where she maintains all property management accounts while closely working with the property management team, owners and tenants.
