Allan Fox and Don Harley of Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast Negotiate Lease for Latella Gelato at 11 Boardwalk Avenue in Carolina BeachSeptember 8, 2017
CAROLINA BEACH, NC – Allan Fox and Don Harley, agents with Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast, recently negotiated a 1,701-square-foot lease for Latella Gelato at 11 Boardwalk Avenue in Carolina Beach, NC. Latella Gelato is a family owned gelato shop that offers fresh, homemade gelato daily, in addition to smoothies, milkshakes, slushies and hot and cold coffee and espresso drinks.
Fox and Harley represented both the tenant and the building owner in the lease. The owners of Latella Gelato are Erik Dietrich and Jeanie Shaffer. The landlord is Boardwalk Landing, LLC of Raleigh, NC.
“Latella Gelato did an outstanding job with the build-out of their space,” said Fox. “The interior design, the tile work and the overall quality of the finishes is really extraordinary.”
Latella Gelato is named after owner Erik Dietrich’s grandparents – Mario and Valeria Latella. Gelato is Italian ice cream that contains half the fat of typical ice cream. It also has less air than ice cream, which makes it taste particularly creamy and rich. Latella Gelato offers a wide array of gelato flavors that change daily and make use of local ingredients. The shop also offers dairy free fruit sorbetto (Italian sorbet) and locally roasted coffee.
With the Latella Gelato lease, the contiguous buildings at 11 Boardwalk Avenue and 12 Carolina Beach Avenue N are now fully leased. These properties replaced the former arcade building that burned down at this same location in 2014. Additional tenants within the property include Go Sauce Yourself, Sea Bee Subs, Carolina Beach Arcade and Seaside Gifts. Don Harley of Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast was the listing agent for both properties.
